Odoo Zalo integration: connect personal Zalo accounts to Odoo with Hubz

An Odoo Zalo integration solves a problem every company running Odoo in Vietnam meets sooner or later: your customers talk to you on Zalo, but your contacts, orders and history live in Odoo. Why an Odoo Zalo integration matters in Vietnam

Zalo is Vietnam's most used messaging app. Customers ask for quotes, confirm orders, send payment screenshots and raise complaints there, usually with a salesperson's personal Zalo account. Meanwhile your finance team, managers and regional office look at Odoo. With two separate places:

• staff copy what the customer said from their phone into Odoo by hand, or not at all;
• a colleague opening the contact in Odoo has no idea what the customer just wrote on Zalo;
• when the salesperson is away, the conversation is stuck on their phone.

What the Odoo Zalo connector does

The integration is one addon installed on your Odoo. It does exactly three things.

A Hubz button in the contact's chatter

The addon adds a Hubz button to the chatter of each Odoo contact. Click it and that contact's Zalo conversation opens next to the customer record. Whoever opens the contact, sales, finance or a manager, sees what the customer said on Zalo without asking around or borrowing a phone.

Zalo customers linked to Odoo contacts by phone number

The addon links a Zalo customer in Hubz to an Odoo contact using the phone number. No need to match customers one by one: a contact that already has a phone number in Odoo can be tied to the matching Zalo conversation.

Zalo messages logged on the contact

Zalo messages are logged in the contact's chatter, next to the notes, emails and activities you already keep in Odoo. The customer's history sits in one place, readable by anyone who opens the contact, even while the person in charge is on leave.

Supported Odoo versions

The addon runs on Odoo 17, 18, 19 and 20, Community and Enterprise editions. Each Odoo version has its own branch of the addon, and its automated tests pass.

How BMS sets it up with you

There is nothing complicated to configure on your side. BMS, an Odoo implementation partner in Vietnam since 2018, takes you through four steps:

1. Register for early access and contact BMS. Create your Hubz account, then contact BMS to say you want to connect Odoo.
2. BMS installs the addon and connects it to Hubz. BMS installs the addon on your Odoo (17 to 20, Community or Enterprise) and connects it to your company's Hubz workspace.
3. Contacts are linked, messages start appearing. Odoo contacts are linked to Zalo customers by phone number, and Zalo messages start appearing in their chatter.
4. Your team uses the Hubz button. Staff open a contact and click the Hubz button to see the customer's Zalo conversation.

Where your data lives

Conversations stay in Hubz and open from the Hubz button on the contact. Odoo keeps the link between the contact and the Zalo customer, plus the messages logged in the chatter. In Hubz, chat history belongs to the Zalo number, not to the staff member, so when someone leaves, the history stays with your company. That is also what makes it workable to share one Zalo account with a team without passing a phone around.
